2025 UTME Mop-Up: Over 85,000 Candidates Yet to Print Exam Slips – JAMB

Barely 24 hours before the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has raised alarm over the low turnout of candidates who have printed their examination slips.

According to a statement released by the examination body on Friday, only 12,442 out of the total 98,232 candidates expected to take part in the mop-up exam have printed their slips. This means only 12.6 percent of the candidates are currently prepared for the exam scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025.

JAMB, through its spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, noted that candidates who missed the earlier exam date have a final chance to participate. He said, “We strongly encourage all candidates, particularly those, who missed the main examination, to print their notification slips promptly. This is a rare opportunity for them to participate in this year’s examination.”

The board further noted that it is keeping close track of the slip-printing process to determine how many candidates are getting ready. They have also provided both staff and resources across different centers to help ensure that every registered student has access to take part in the mop-up exam.

Benjamin warned that any candidate who fails to print their exam slip would not be allowed to sit for the exam. “Please note that failure to print the examination notification slip will result in forfeiture of the opportunity to take the examination,” the statement added.

JAMB reminded candidates once more to act fast and print their slips to avoid being disqualified. “Once again, we urge all candidates to proceed immediately to print their slips for the examination scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, 28th June, 2025,” the board stressed.

The mop-up exam is meant to give a second chance to those who had genuine issues during the main UTME, including technical challenges or missing their original exam schedule. With such a low number of slips printed so far, the board is urging all concerned candidates not to waste this opportunity.
