The Peoples Democratic Party Senators’ Caucus in Osun State on Tuesday announced their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
This endorsement was made public in a joint statement signed by three Osun PDP senators: Senator Kamarudeen Oyewumi (representing Osun West), Senator Olubiyi Ajagunla (representing Osun Central), and Senator Francis Fadahunsi (representing Osun East).
The statement followed a meeting held earlier the same day in Osogbo, where all three lawmakers reached a consensus to back the current President for another term.
In the statement, the senators said their decision was based on what they described as Tinubu’s commendable performance since assuming office. They noted improvements in areas such as economic management, national security, and infrastructure development.
They also pointed out that the recent reduction in food prices and inflation are clear signs that Tinubu’s policies are beginning to positively impact the daily lives of Nigerians.
“This endorsement is not just symbolic—it reflects our deep confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to deliver on the promise of democracy.
“The Osun PDP Senators’ Caucus is united and unwavering in its support. There is no internal dissent; we stand as one,” the statement read.
