Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane has responded to recent criticism with a stunning performance, declaring he will let his actions on the field speak for themselves.
The England captain made history on Friday, becoming the fastest player to score 50 goals in Bundesliga history. Kane achieved this milestone in just 43 matches, surpassing Erling Haaland’s record of 50 goals in 50 games, set during his time at Borussia Dortmund in 2021.
The 31-year-old striker showcased his brilliance during Bayern’s 3-0 victory over FC Augsburg. Kane’s second-half hat-trick not only secured the win but also pushed Bayern Munich eight points clear at the top of the table. This marked Kane’s seventh hat-trick since joining Bayern in the summer of 2023.
Two of his goals came from the penalty spot, highlighting his consistency in high-pressure situations. Remarkably, Kane has now converted 25 consecutive penalties for club and country since his missed attempt against France in the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals.
Despite his accomplishments, Kane faced criticism during the recent international break, with some pundits suggesting he should be replaced by Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
Others pointed to his perceived lack of energy during Euro 2024. Addressing the scrutiny, Kane said, “I’m experienced enough to know that comes with being one of the top players, one of the top strikers.”
The forward emphasized that he feels in peak form and reiterated his commitment to proving his worth on the field. “All I can do is do my talking on the pitch, like I did tonight,” he stated.
Kane also shared that he has not yet spoken to England’s incoming coach, Thomas Tuchel, who resides in Munich. However, he expressed optimism about discussing his experiences and areas for improvement with the new manager.
