Vice President Kashim Shettima departed Abuja on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to participate in the prestigious International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024.
The event, scheduled from November 27 to December 2, is hosted at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.
According to an official statement by Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Shettima was invited to the conference by Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné.
The statement, titled ‘VP Shettima Leaves for Abidjan, To Attend SIREXE 2024 Opening Ceremony’, highlighted the importance of the event in shaping sustainable strategies for the extractive and energy industries.
SIREXE is an international forum organized by the Ivorian government to discuss policies and strategies for sustainable development in energy and resource extraction. The conference brings together global stakeholders, including government representatives, industry leaders, and energy experts.
During the event, Vice President Shettima is expected to showcase Nigeria’s expertise in hydrocarbon exploration and production.
The Vice President is anticipated to return to Abuja by the end of the day.
