On Friday, December 13, 2024, an array of high-profile leaders and dignitaries assembled at the National Mosque in Abuja to celebrate the wedding fatiha of the children of Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin.
The grand occasion featured esteemed personalities, including President Bola Tinubu, represented by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, alongside governors, senators, and other notable figures from across the country.
The event marked the union of Jibrin Barau I. Jibrin (Abba) and Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi, as well as Aisha Barau I. Jibrin and Abubakar Abdulmunaf, son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of Azman Group of Companies. The ceremony was conducted following the two raka’at Juma’at prayers and officiated by Professor Ibrahim Maqari, the Imam of the National Mosque.
Speaker Abbas served as Wakil and Waliy for Senator Barau’s children, while APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje acted as Waliy for Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero. Senator Tanko Almakura represented Abubakar Abdulmunaf as Wakil.
The event was attended by governors such as Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Peter Mbah (Enugu), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), among others. Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan led a delegation of senators, while key figures like Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu also graced the occasion.
