State House Allocates N15 Billion for SUVs, Tyres, and New Office Complex in 2025 Budget

The State House has set aside N15.09 billion in the 2025 budget for the purchase of vehicles, tyres, and the construction of a new office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants. This allocation was detailed in the 2025 Appropriation Bill released by the Budget Office of the Federation on Thursday.

The bill highlights N164 million earmarked for tyres for various vehicles, including bulletproof cars, SUVs, and operational vehicles. Additionally, N1.1 billion is reserved for replacing SUVs, while N3.66 billion will cover the procurement of operational vehicles for the State House.

Under the Office of the President, N127.86 million is allocated for SUVs for the President and Vice President, while the Chief of Staff’s office will receive N285 million for vehicle purchases. The Chief Security Officer’s office will spend N179.63 million on security vehicles.

In infrastructure spending, N1.83 billion is designated for constructing an office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants. Furthermore, N2.12 billion is budgeted for honorarium and sitting allowances.

President Bola Tinubu presented the N49.7 trillion budget, titled “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity,” on Wednesday. It prioritizes security, infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Key allocations include N4.91 trillion for defense, N4.06 trillion for infrastructure, N3.52 trillion for education, and N2.48 trillion for healthcare.

The budget, which carries a N13.39 trillion deficit, is based on projected revenue of N34.82 trillion, with plans to borrow to bridge the gap. Economic assumptions include reducing inflation to 15% and improving the naira exchange rate to N1,500 per dollar.
