Guardiola Warns: Manchester City’s UCL Hopes Hang by a Thread

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has issued a stark warning about his team’s precarious position in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of their Premier League fixture against Everton, Guardiola acknowledged the possibility of failing to advance to the knockout rounds this season.

Currently, the English Premier League champions find themselves in a challenging situation, occupying 22nd place in the overall group rankings. With only two victories from their six UCL matches so far, they face an uphill battle to secure their place in the next stage of the competition.

Guardiola was clear about the stakes: “Right now, we are at the risk of not qualifying for the Champions League… of course we are! Definitely we are. We have to get points and win games otherwise we will not qualify for the Champions League!”

To remain in contention, Manchester City must win their remaining group-stage matches. First, they face Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a crucial away match in France on January 22. A week later, on January 29, they will host Club Brugge at the Etihad Stadium in what could be a decisive game.
