Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, widow of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has sharply criticized Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for organizing a remembrance lecture in honor of her late husband.
In a strongly worded post shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, she accused Aiyedatiwa of using the lecture as a pretext for financial gain rather than genuinely honoring her husband’s legacy.
Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu expressed disbelief over the planned event, stating that the family was neither consulted nor informed about it. She questioned the sincerity of Aiyedatiwa’s intentions, accusing him of actions that undermine her late husband’s achievements.
In her post, she wrote:
“Lucky can’t be serious!
“Which legacy?
“Mtcheew 🙄🙄🙄.
“Lecture, my foot!
“This is not for Aketi because I and my family are not aware.
“Damn it! 😡.”
The widow further alleged that Aiyedatiwa’s actions in private are inconsistent with his public gestures, claiming that he has alienated those who were close to the late governor.
She described the planned event as “insidious propaganda” aimed at profiting from her husband’s name. Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu concluded by calling the lecture a deceptive scheme, writing, “If this is not #yahoo #419 lecture, tell me what it is!”
