The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has confidently declared its intention to reclaim power from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
This statement was made on Thursday by the APC Chairman in Kano, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, who criticized NNPP’s leader, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, for his recent statements about the party’s influence.
Prince Abbas urged Kwankwaso to focus on preparing for what he described as the “inevitable defeat” awaiting NNPP. He reassured APC supporters that the party is fully ready to bounce back and reclaim its position in the state. “Our teeming supporters in the APC have no cause to worry,” he stated confidently.
The APC also cautioned against any actions that could undermine the integrity of the 2027 elections, emphasizing the need for fairness and transparency.
This declaration follows a recent statement by Senator Kwankwaso, where he boasted of NNPP’s ability to significantly weaken APC’s influence in Kano.
During a gathering in Kano, Kwankwaso said, “Now, it’s our turn to diminish APC’s influence. We will work tirelessly to ensure their votes are reduced to less than 15,000 in Kano come 2027.”
Kwankwaso’s remarks were made while welcoming former councillors and advisers from Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje’s administration. Ganduje, the current APC National Chairman, had led the party during its tenure in Kano before NNPP’s recent rise.
