The Gombe State Government has announced plans to improve road infrastructure in the state capital, with a budget of N31.547 billion approved for key construction projects. The decision was made during the State Executive Council meeting, presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Monday at the Government House.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Transport, Engr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, provided details of the projects. He explained that the funds will be used for the construction of an underpass bridge and several road networks aimed at easing traffic and boosting connectivity in Gombe metropolis.
Engr. Kallamu outlined that the underpass will link Yemi Osibanjo Road to the Central Business District (CBD) and the State Secretariat. In addition, 18.1 kilometers of new roads will be constructed within the area to further enhance access and reduce congestion.
