2024: JAMB Remits N6bn to FG, Generates N22.9bn Revenue

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed its financial achievements for 2024, highlighting a remittance of over N6 billion to the Nigerian government. This was revealed in JAMB’s weekly bulletin, shared by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, on Monday.

According to the report, JAMB generated a total income of N22,996,653,265.25 in 2024. Out of this amount, N6,034,605,510.69 was officially remitted to the federal government as part of the board’s operating surplus.

Furthermore, the board explained that a reduction in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) form fee by N1,500 per candidate had an indirect impact on the remittance figure. When this fee adjustment is considered, the effective contribution by JAMB rises to N9,013,068,510.69.

The board emphasized that these funds were achieved while ensuring the smooth execution of the 2024 UTME and maintaining transparency in its operations.

Over the past seven years, JAMB has contributed more than N50 billion to the national treasury, a significant milestone under the leadership of its Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede.

The board stated: “As we reflect on 2024, it is essential to uphold our commitment to transparency by sharing our financial performance for the year. In 2024, the board generated a total income of N22,996,653,265.25.

“In 2024, the board remitted N6,034,605,510.69 to the government.

When combined with the N1,500 reduction per form for candidates multiplied by the number of candidates that benefited in 2024, the total remittance by JAMB would amount to N9,013,068,510.69.”
