A teacher at Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has been arrested for allegedly physically abusing a three-year-old pupil.
The teacher, identified as Stella Nwadigo, was taken into custody following a viral video that showed her mistreating the child, Abayomi Michael.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, sparked outrage and prompted immediate calls for action.
Many viewers expressed their concern and demanded accountability, pushing authorities to respond swiftly.
The footage has since drawn attention to issues surrounding the safety of children in schools and the conduct of educators.
Confirming the arrest on Wednesday, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated, “The teacher has been taken into custody and is currently undergoing investigation. Further necessary actions will follow to ensure justice is served.”
