Church Members Nab Man With Girlfriend’s Head in Nasarawa

A shocking incident unfolded on Sunday in Orozo, a community near the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and Nasarawa State, when a man, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, was apprehended by churchgoers for allegedly carrying the severed head of his girlfriend in a plastic bag.

According to Caleb Umaru, the General Secretary of the church, the event occurred during a thanksgiving service marking the end of a seven-day fast.

Suspicion arose when a church member, Brother Victor, noticed Ajayi moving near the river behind the church. He alerted another member, Brother Amos, and they confronted Ajayi, who then threw the bag into the river.

Ajayi’s evasive responses raised further doubts. Shortly after, two motorcyclists arrived, one claiming to have transported Ajayi from a nearby town. He reported seeing blood dripping from Ajayi’s bag. After the bikemen traced Ajayi to the church, a group of men forced him to retrieve the bag, leading to the discovery of the severed head.

Ajayi attempted to flee but was captured after a lengthy chase. The bikemen injured him during the confrontation, but church members intervened to prevent further harm. A police officer later arrived at the scene, interrogating Ajayi, who admitted to killing his girlfriend after an argument. He claimed she had attacked him with a knife during a dispute over her phone. Ajayi also confessed that a woman instructed him to bring the head for unknown purposes.
