Less Than 24 Hours in Office, Trump Revokes Over 80 Biden’s Executive Actions

President Donald Trump has revoked over 80 executive actions put in place during Joe Biden’s presidency. The sweeping reversals were signed on Monday at Capital One Arena shortly after Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.

Among the orders nullified is a Biden-era decision to remove Cuba from the U.S. State Sponsors of Terrorism list. This move by Biden, which aimed to mend ties with Cuba, had drawn mixed reactions from lawmakers and international observers. Trump’s decision to reverse it marks a significant shift in U.S.-Cuba relations.

Another key reversal involves sanctions placed by Biden in February 2024 on specific Jewish settlers in the West Bank. These sanctions targeted individuals accused of inciting violence in the region. Trump’s revocation of this order has reignited debates surrounding U.S. involvement in Middle Eastern conflicts and policies.

Additionally, Trump rescinded Biden’s 2023 executive order on artificial intelligence. The original order was intended to oversee and mitigate risks associated with the rapid development of AI technologies.
