The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police has lost his son in a car accident that reportedly happened on Monday.
Adam, 33, had recently completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Ministry of Tourism in Abuja.
According to SaharaReporters, he was alone in a BMW when the accident occurred, leading to the vehicle catching fire.
“Adam was not his (Tunji Disu’s) biological son but he raised him since he was two years old. Adam was 33 years old and had just completed his NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) programme last year,” SaharaReporters reported.
“He died in a ghastly auto accident while drive alone in BMW car,” another source said.
“The car caught fire as it rolled over after entering a ditch.”
At the time of the incident, CP Disu was paying a condolence visit to CSP A.A. Sambo, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ushafa Division, who had also recently lost his son.
During the visit, CP Disu expressed heartfelt sympathies and assured CSP Sambo and his family of the Command’s unwavering support during this difficult time.
The tragic news of Adam’s death has left CP Disu, his family, and friends deeply heartbroken. Colleagues, friends, and the general public have extended their condolences to the grieving family.
CP Olatunji Disu assumed duty as the 32nd Commissioner of Police for the FCT Police Command in October. He took over from AIG Benneth Igweh, who was promoted to Assistant Inspector General of Police and posted to Zone 7 Headquarters.
