Man United Manager Ruben Amorim Loses Temper in Dressing Room, Damages TV During Outburst

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim lost his temper following the team’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton on Sunday. The result pushed United down to 13th place in the Premier League standings, intensifying pressure on the Portuguese coach.

In the aftermath of the loss, Amorim reportedly struck a television screen during a heated team meeting, inadvertently damaging it. The incident occurred while he was addressing his players, with frustrations boiling over after another poor performance.

The Athletic reports that Amorim’s impassioned rant left the television unusable ahead of the club’s upcoming Europa League match against Rangers. During his post-match interview, Amorim didn’t hold back, openly admitting the squad’s shortcomings.

“We are the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United,” he stated bluntly. “I am saying that because we have to acknowledge that and to change it. Here you go: your headlines.”

Amorim didn’t shy away from the criticism, noting that the team had failed to meet the high standards associated with Manchester United.

He described the loss as “unacceptable,” adding, “It’s unacceptable to lose so many games. For any Premier League club, so imagine Manchester United. The opponents are better than us in many details.”

Despite the mounting losses, Amorim insisted he would stick with his tactical approach, regardless of short-term results.

“I knew it was going to be hard to put a completely new idea in the moment,” he said. “When you lose games it becomes really hard. So that’s why I’m telling you we are going to suffer because I will continue to do the same. I am not going to change, no matter what.”

The loss marked United’s seventh defeat in just 15 games under Amorim, drawing comparisons to Steve Cooper’s record before his dismissal at Leicester.

Additionally, United’s home form has been abysmal, with six defeats in 12 home league matches—making it their worst run at Old Trafford in 131 years.
