Europa: Dynamo Kyiv Stuns Osimhen’s Galatasaray With Comeback Draw

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen’s penalty for Galatasaray wasn’t enough to secure a win as Dynamo Kyiv staged an impressive comeback, earning their first point of the Europa League campaign in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

The game, held at the Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi in Istanbul, saw six goals and moments of high drama. While Galatasaray dominated early, Dynamo Kyiv’s resilience kept the crowd on edge until the final whistle.

The match began explosively for Galatasaray, with Davinson Sánchez heading in a goal in the 6th minute to put the home team ahead.

The Turkish side extended their lead in the 21st minute when Abdülkerim Bardakçı found the back of the net. At this point, Galatasaray seemed firmly in control.

However, Dynamo Kyiv showed signs of life just before halftime. Vladyslav Vanat’s 44th-minute goal brought the Ukrainian side back into the contest, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

The second half started on a high note for Galatasaray as Victor Osimhen converted a penalty in the 53rd minute, restoring their two-goal lead.

But the visitors refused to back down. Dynamo Kyiv captain Andriy Yarmolenko took center stage, scoring twice in the 68th and 81st minutes to equalize and silence the Istanbul crowd.
