Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has confirmed the authenticity of a post on his Instagram account announcing his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia. Contrary to earlier rumors that his account might have been hacked, 2Baba clarified that the post was made by him.
The singer addressed the situation in a video shared on his Instagram story late Sunday night. In the video, he confirmed that the controversial post, which disclosed details of his marriage ending, was genuine.
The original post, shared earlier on his page, revealed that he and Annie, who have been married for 13 years, have been separated for some time. The post read: “Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long…I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now, and currently filed for divorce.
“I would grant a press release soon to say my story. Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”
