The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the schedule and details for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Professor Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB’s Registrar, disclosed the information during a press briefing.
The sale of application forms for the 2025 UTME will begin on January 31, 2025, and close on March 5, 2025. For candidates seeking direct entry, the sale of forms and e-PIN vending will commence on March 10, 2025, and end on April 7, 2025.
The Mock-UTME is slated for April 5, 2025, providing an opportunity for candidates to familiarize themselves with the examination process. The main UTME is scheduled to take place between April 25, 2025, and May 5, 2025.
Candidates registering for the UTME with the mock exam included will pay ₦8,200, while those opting out of the mock exam will pay ₦7,200.
The breakdown of the fees is as follows: the application fee is ₦3,500; the reading text costs ₦1,000; the CBT center registration service charge is ₦700, and the CBT exam service charge is ₦1,500. Those participating in the mock exam will pay an additional ₦1,500 for the mock service charge and another ₦1,500 for the CBT mock exam center charge. Bank charges amount to ₦500.
In a new development, JAMB has introduced a specialized mock exam for candidates below 16 years old. This initiative is designed to allow younger students to assess their abilities and familiarize themselves with the UTME format. However, it is not intended for admission purposes.
Professor Oloyede noted that candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025. However, exceptionally gifted students under the age of 15 may be considered for admission if they score 280 or higher in the UTME and perform excellently in their Senior Secondary Certificate and post-UTME exams.
