JUST IN: Plateau Governor Sacks Five Commissioners, Names Replacements

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has approved the removal of five commissioners from the State Executive Council and appointed new individuals to fill the positions. The decision was made public as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership team.

The affected commissioners include those overseeing key ministries such as Commerce and Industry, Science and Technology, Youth and Sports Development, Budget and Economic Planning, and Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality.

The commissioners who have been relieved of their duties are:

  • Sule Musa – Ministry of Commerce and Industry
  • Obed Goselle – Ministry of Science and Technology
  • Noel Nkup – Ministry of Youth and Sports Development
  • Chrysantus Dawam – Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning
  • Jamila Tukur – Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality

In a statement, the governor expressed appreciation to the former commissioners for their service and wished them well in their future endeavors. “We thank the affected commissioners for their contributions to the state and wish them success in their future undertakings,” the governor said.

Governor Mutfwang also introduced the newly appointed commissioners, who are expected to bring fresh ideas and energy to their respective ministries. The new appointments are:

  • Sunday Alex – Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, representing Bassa Local Government Area
  • Joyce Ramnap – Commissioner for Science and Technology, representing Langtang South Local Government Area
  • Sylvanus Dongtoe – Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, representing Shendam Local Government Area
  • Nicholas Baamlong – Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, representing Qua’an Pan Local Government Area
  • Cornelius Doeyok – Commissioner for Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality, also representing Qua’an Pan Local Government Area

These appointments, according to the governor, are aimed at improving governance and delivering better results for the people of Plateau State.
