Three Siblings Found Dead in Deep Freezer in Anambra

A horrifying incident happened in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, where three young siblings were found dead in a deep freezer. The victims, a boy and two girls, were believed to have been killed by unidentified assailants, who left their bodies in the freezer at their home.

The deceased children, aged nine, seven, and five, were left in their apartment by their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, who is a lecturer and nurse. On the fateful day, Mrs. Ejezie had gone to take an exam, leaving her children at home. Upon her return, she found the apartment unusually open, which raised her suspicions. It was not typical for her children to leave the house unattended, and the open apartment seemed out of place.

Concerned for their safety, Mrs. Ejezie began searching for the children both inside and outside the apartment. She then went to the deep freezer, suspecting that they might have been hungry and left their food unfinished. It was there that she made the grim discovery—her children’s lifeless bodies stuffed inside the deep freezer.

The father of the deceased, Mr. Udobi Ejezie, who lives in Irrua, Edo State, was immediately informed of the tragedy by his wife. In shock and disbelief, Mr. Ejezie rushed back to Nnewichi after hearing the news. He shared his pain with news outlets, stating, “My wife told me after searching for the kids by herself and a search party, without success, and in despair, the deep freezer was opened and behold, the dead bodies of the kids were found there.”

The family’s bungalow, where the children lived, also housed two other tenants and the landlord. Investigators believe the children were eating when the assailants entered the house in the afternoon, as food was found in their plates. It is suspected that the children may have been forced to abandon their meal in fear.

The bodies of the three children have been taken to a morgue, and the tragic incident has been reported to the Central Police Station in Nnewi. The police are investigating the case, but attempts to reach the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, for further comment have not been successful.
