Atiku Pays Condolence Visit to Jigawa Governor

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar visited Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi to offer his condolences after the devastating deaths of the governor’s mother, Maryam Namadi-Umar, and his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.

Atiku’s visit took place on Tuesday, where he met with the grieving governor to express his sympathy and support.

The former Vice President shared a video of the visit on X (formerly Twitter), offering words of comfort to the governor. Atiku expressed his deep sorrow and extended heartfelt prayers for the departed, saying, “Today, I paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, over the recent loss of his beloved mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi-Umar, and dear son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.”

He further prayed for the governor’s mother, asking, “I pray that Allah expands her grave and shines His light on her face in the Last Day. Ameen.”

The deaths occurred just days apart. Governor Namadi’s mother passed away on December 25, 2024, while he was on an official trip to China. The very next day, on December 26, 2024, his son Abdulwahab tragically died in a car accident.

Abdulwahab, who was traveling with friends from Kafin Hausa to Dutse, lost control of the vehicle he was driving, which caused the car to flip over. While his friends were injured, Abdulwahab was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
