75-Year-Old Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Kano

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano State has arrested a 75-year-old man, Nuhu Baba, for drug trafficking. The arrest took place during an anti-drug operation in Tumbau Village, Gezawa Local Government Area of the state.

The agency’s spokesperson, Sadiq Maigatari, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Tuesday. He noted that NDLEA operatives seized various illicit drugs from the suspect, including Tramadol, Cannabis Sativa, Diazepam, Exol-5, and Rubber Solution.

Further investigations revealed that Baba had been involved in the illegal drug trade for the past two years. “Upon investigation, Nuhu Baba confessed to the authorities that he had been engaged in this illicit trade for the past two years as a means of sustaining his livelihood,” the statement read.
