The Gombe State Police Command has announced restrictions on movement between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m., beginning Friday, February 7. This decision follows intelligence reports warning of potential threats to public safety in the state.
The announcement was made by the Command’s spokesperson, Buhari Abdullahi, in a statement to journalists on Thursday. He noted that the restrictions were necessary to address growing security concerns.
“Intelligence reports inundating the Police Command in Gombe State point to rising threats to the safety and security of citizens in the state,” Abdullahi said.
To prevent any security breaches, the police have decided to limit movement during the early morning hours. The Command believes this measure will help maintain peace and protect residents.
Abdullahi further noted that ensuring public safety remains the top priority of law enforcement in Gombe. He urged residents to comply with the new directive and support efforts to keep the state secure.
The police also advised parents and guardians to warn their children about the curfew, stressing that anyone found violating the order would face consequences. Officers will be deployed to enforce the restrictions and ensure full compliance.
