Kidnappers Demand N250m Ransom for Ex-NYSC DG Gen Tsiga

The abductors of retired General Maharazu Tsiga, former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have demanded a ransom of N250 million for his release.

Gen Tsiga was kidnapped on Wednesday night when a large group of armed men stormed his residence in Katsina State. Witnesses say over 100 gunmen invaded the house, breaking doors and causing panic.

A federal lawmaker representing Bakori/Danja constituency in Katsina State, Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, noted that the attackers completely surrounded the house before forcing their way in. He stated that the general, hearing the commotion, stepped out and asked the intruders what they wanted.

Security agencies have since launched a manhunt to track down the kidnappers and secure Tsiga’s release. Authorities in Katsina State are working with law enforcement to find those responsible and ensure the general’s safe return.

A source close to the family, who chose to remain anonymous, confirmed to DAILY POST that the kidnappers contacted them and demanded N250 million before releasing him. The family has not yet commented on whether they are negotiating with the abductors.
