A Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday, indefinitely adjourned the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). This decision was made following Kanu’s objection to Justice Binta Nyako continuing as the judge in his case.
Kanu argued that Justice Nyako had previously withdrawn from handling the case and, therefore, should not preside over it again. His legal team raised concerns about the fairness of the trial under her supervision, leading to the indefinite adjournment of the case.
Earlier, Kanu had been scheduled to appear before the Federal High Court in Abuja on February 10, 2025. However, with the new development, the trial will no longer proceed as planned until further notice.
