The Federal Government has started a series of ministerial press briefings aimed at keeping Nigerians informed about government activities and policies. This move is intended to enhance transparency and accountability.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this known during a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday. He noted that President Bola Tinubu has directed all ministers to engage with the media regularly to share updates on their work and respond to public concerns.
Idris explained that the press briefings would serve as a direct channel for government officials to communicate with the people.
Through these sessions, ministers will provide insights into ongoing projects, policy decisions, and other key developments within their respective ministries. This is expected to give Nigerians a clearer understanding of government efforts and plans.
He further noted that this initiative aligns with the administration’s commitment to open governance. By allowing ministers to speak directly to the public, the government hopes to bridge the gap between policy implementation and public perception.
