Newcastle Survive Forest Comeback in Thrilling 4-3 Victory

Newcastle United secured a crucial 4-3 win over Nottingham Forest in a dramatic Premier League clash at St James’ Park. The victory boosts their hopes of finishing in the top four as they continue their push for a Champions League spot.

The match got off to a rough start for Newcastle when Callum Hudson-Odoi put Forest ahead in just the sixth minute. The winger capitalized on a mistake from Jacob Murphy, cutting inside and firing a powerful shot past goalkeeper Nick Pope, who was caught out of position.

Newcastle responded strongly, equalizing in the 23rd minute through Lewis Miley. The young midfielder controlled a pass from Lewis Hall inside the box and found the net through a crowded defense. Just two minutes later, Murphy redeemed himself for his earlier mistake, bundling home from close range after a deflected cross from Hall.

The home side continued their attacking dominance, with Alexander Isak making his mark. In the 33rd minute, Ola Aina handled the ball in the box, leading to a penalty. Isak confidently converted with a cheeky chipped effort past Matz Sels. Less than a minute later, Joe Willock burst through midfield and set up Isak, whose deflected shot gave Newcastle a commanding 4-1 lead.

Forest, however, refused to go down without a fight. Nikola Milenkovic pulled one back in the 63rd minute, flicking in a cross from Chris Wood. The visitors then made Newcastle sweat in stoppage time when Ryan Yates found the net, setting up a tense finale.

Despite the late scare, Newcastle held firm to claim a vital three points. The win moves them level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City, keeping their Champions League hopes alive.
