After Two-Year Inactivity, Tinubu Presides Over APC National Caucus Meeting

President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday night, presided over the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus meeting at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

The meeting, marked Tinubu’s first caucus gathering since assuming office 20 months ago. It commenced at 7:22 p.m. when the President arrived at the venue. However, journalists were not permitted inside the main hall.

This high-level meeting brought together the party’s top leaders, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Also in attendance were members of the National Working Committee (NWC), APC governors, former governors, ministers, and other key political figures.

In 2024, the caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings were initially scheduled for September 11 and 12 but were later postponed without an official explanation. APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka confirmed at the time that a new date would be set. This year, however, the meeting proceeded as planned.

Speaking to The PUNCH, APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru confirmed that the meeting would not face any delays. He stated, “By the grace of God, the President will be there. He has already confirmed his attendance… nobody is postponing anything. The National Caucus and the NEC meetings will still be held Tuesday and Wednesday as scheduled.”
