JUST IN: Senate President Denies Sexual Harassment Allegation, Calls It ‘Tissues of Lies’

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has denied allegations of sexual harassment made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central. The denial was issued through his media consultant, Kenny Okulogbo, during an interview with PUNCH.

Okulogbo rejected Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims, describing them as baseless. He stated that the senator was only making these allegations because she was recently removed as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content.

“All that Senator Natasha said are all tissues of lies. She is just angry because she was removed as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content,” Okulogbo said.

The controversy began after Akpoti-Uduaghan, during an interview with Arise Television, accused Akpabio of making inappropriate advances toward her and retaliating when she rejected them.

She alleged that the Senate President blocked her motions from being heard on the Senate floor as a form of punishment.

She also claimed that the harassment started in December 2023 when she visited Akpabio’s home in Ikot-Ekpene with her husband. According to her, Akpabio held her hand and led her to a sitting room, where he allegedly made suggestive remarks.

Okulogbo, however, noted that Akpabio will address the matter officially soon.

“The Senate President will respond. We will make an official statement soon,” he added.
