Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, has met with several key political figures, including President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. These meetings are part of his ongoing political consultations following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Jandor’s spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, confirmed the meetings in a statement on Thursday. He noted that Jandor met with President Tinubu on Monday. The statement also revealed that he had previously held discussions with other notable figures such as former President Ibrahim Babangida, former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, and the Social Democratic Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo.
“These consultations are part of his efforts to decide his next political move after leaving the PDP,” Ogunleye stated.
The statement further mentioned that top PDP officials, including the party’s National Secretary and other leaders, had recently visited Jandor. Their aim was to persuade him to reconsider his decision to resign from the party.
Meanwhile, Jandor is expected to meet with his political associates and key stakeholders in Lagos over the weekend. He is also scheduled to address the media on Monday, March 17, 2025.
Although Jandor has yet to announce his next political step, he previously cited indiscipline and anti-party activities as reasons for leaving the PDP. He expressed disappointment with the party’s national leadership, claiming they failed to support him during the Lagos governorship election. He alleged that a misleading claim of an alliance caused many PDP supporters to vote for another candidate, ultimately affecting his chances of winning.
