“A Child Needs Love, Not Rejection” – Actress Dayo Amusa Speaks on Asake’s Family Drama

Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has shared her thoughts on the ongoing dispute between singer Asake and a man, Fatai Odunsi, who claims to be his father. The issue has sparked widespread discussions, with many weighing in on the allegations and Asake’s response.

In a post on Instagram, Amusa noted the deep impact parental love—or the lack of it—can have on a child’s life. She stated that no amount of success or wealth can erase childhood wounds caused by rejection or emotional neglect.

“When Asake covered his face in tattoos, I once remarked that he was either rebranding or masking a pain he wasn’t ready to confront,” Amusa wrote.

The actress further noted that while there are claims about Asake’s mother being strict and his father being absent, she would not judge them. However, she stressed that what truly matters is that Asake deserves love, not public scrutiny.

“Fame doesn’t heal the wounds of parental rejection. A child raised on ‘I love you’ moves through life differently than one who hears, ‘I want nothing to do with you.’ Some wounds money cannot fix—only deep, intentional healing can.

“Rather than judge, I choose to send love to this remarkable artist,” she added.

Amusa also encouraged parents to be actively present in their children’s lives, noting that the voices children hear at home shape how they view the world.

“A child who feels truly seen and loved at home has less to prove to the world. As a victim of such circumstances, I can relate. I wish him well,” she concluded.

Her remarks come as Odunsi, an elderly man claiming to be Asake’s father, recently appeared in a viral video asking for financial assistance due to health issues. He alleged that he has been battling a stroke since 2022 and that Asake has refused to take his calls despite his deteriorating condition.

In response, Asake shared a cryptic message on TikTok, seemingly addressing the situation. Singing in Yoruba, he stated, “You can’t please everyone, you can’t please the world. But anything you are doing, just do it for God. My own father wants to cajole me, and I have sent so much money to him. I have struggled for so many years, but they want to make life tire me.”

The controversy deepened when Asake’s family also spoke out, accusing the singer of neglecting his daughter, Zeenat, and her mother.
