Four gospel ministers, including Evangelist Ayodeji David, widely known as Kekere Jesu, tragically lost their lives in a fatal accident along the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road in Ogun State. The other deceased individuals include Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Opeyemi Adesina, and Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the tragic news in a statement issued by Florence Okupe, the Public Information Officer for the Ogun State Command. According to the statement, the four ministers were traveling to attend a ministry assignment when the accident occurred.
The accident involved a collision between the vehicle carrying the gospel ministers and another vehicle. The force of the impact was so severe that all four occupants of the vehicle, including Kekere Jesu and his fellow ministers, died instantly.
The FRSC stated that preliminary investigations suggested that speeding and poor visibility were contributing factors to the crash. Reports indicate that the accident was part of a series of multiple collisions along the road, with initial sources suggesting that more than 24 lives were lost as a result of the tragic event.
Further reports from The Nation newspaper mentioned that the body of Kekere Jesu, along with the remains of his senior brother’s wife, have already been laid to rest. Additionally, the remains of his Personal Assistant (P.A.) were transported to Ado-Ekiti for burial, while his fiancée’s body was sent to her family for interment.
