You’ve Started Running to Him – Dele Momodu Slams Tinubu, APC for Turning on Buhari

Former presidential candidate and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu for what he describes as careless behavior toward former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a recent appearance on Arise Television, Momodu questioned why the Tinubu-led administration appears to be attacking Buhari, a man he refers to as the party’s most valuable figure. According to him, the APC seems to be turning its back on someone who played a major role in bringing the party to power.

“I believe the APC under Tinubu has been quite careless. How does a political party wake up and start attacking their biggest brand, Buhari?” Momodu asked during the broadcast.

His comments come in the wake of recent high-profile visits to Buhari’s residence in Kaduna State. Just last Friday, the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, led members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to meet with Buhari at his home.

The visit came only a few hours after another major political group, led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, had also visited the former president.

Atiku’s delegation included notable figures such as Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State; Aminu Tambuwal, former governor of Sokoto State; and Isa Pantami, former Minister of Communications.

These meetings have drawn attention and raised questions about Buhari’s growing role in political discussions despite his exit from office.

Momodu expressed confusion over the mixed signals coming from APC leadership. “How does a president wake up and start attacking his immediate predecessor from the same political party? Now you can see that twice in the last few weeks, the APC leadership has been running to see Buhari,” he said.
