Several lives were tragically lost on Friday in a devastating accident that occurred on the Karu Bridge, inward Karu Site, Abuja.
According to reports, the crash was caused by a truck carrying cement that failed its brakes while descending the Kugbo Hill. The truck, which was unable to stop, crashed into several vehicles, leading to the loss of lives and serious injuries to others.
After the collision, the truck tried to flee the scene, but commercial motorcyclists were able to intercept it near the Karu Roundabout, preventing further disaster.
This accident comes just weeks after a similar incident in March, when a Dangote trailer powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) lost its brakes on the same Karu Bridge. That earlier accident also involved multiple vehicles and resulted in several fatalities.
