Posters of Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, bearing the message “Kaura for President 2027,” have been spotted in large numbers around Bauchi city, creating a political buzz ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The posters were seen in many parts of the state capital, especially in busy locations like roundabouts, traffic junctions, and on electric poles. Signboards and walls along key roads such as Railway Road, Sabon Titin Karofi, and Kofar Dumi Street were also covered with the campaign materials.
Residents woke up to the sight of the posters plastered across town, suggesting an early start to a potential presidential campaign by Governor Bala Mohammed. Though no official statement has been released by the governor or his spokespersons regarding the posters, their presence has already sparked conversations among the public about his possible ambitions.
A young man identified as Aminu Auwal, who was seen pasting the posters in one of the busy streets, told reporters that the job was given to them by two local political figures. “We were hired by Ya’u Ortega and Talolo to paste the posters. They brought all the materials and gave us directions on where to place them,” he said.
There is still no word from either Ortega or Talolo about whether the posters were endorsed by the governor himself, or if it is an early move by supporters to show loyalty and test public response.
Bala Mohammed, who is currently serving his second term as governor, had previously contested in the presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2022.
