Seyi Tinubu Denies ‘Bribing, Abducting, Torturing’ NANS President

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has strongly denied a series of serious allegations made against him by Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, the newly inaugurated President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

In a series of public posts on Instagram, Seyi dismissed the claims as baseless and damaging to his reputation.

The controversy began after Comrade Isah held a press conference earlier in the week, during which he accused Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, of offering him a N100 million bribe.

Isah claimed the offer was made in Lagos as part of an effort to get him to speak positively about President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He said he turned down the offer because, in his view, the president had not delivered on his promises to the people.

Following his alleged refusal, Isah claimed he was abducted on April 15. According to him, he was beaten, stripped naked, and humiliated, allegedly in the presence of individuals connected to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Isah said he was forced to issue a press statement under duress, fearing for his safety.

“They told me that nothing would happen if they shared the video, and even if they killed me, Seyi Tinubu would order a cover-up. Ladoja, who was involved, said he would instruct the Inspector General of Police to cover it up and that if the police didn’t comply, he would go,” Isah alleged.

Responding to the accusations, Seyi Tinubu posted: “Wow.. how can someone lie with so much confidence…?? Wow wow… an attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah.”

In a separate message, Seyi added, “I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never knowingly met him before. Neither did I visit any location with thugs.”

He firmly noted that the entire narrative presented by Isah was “completely fictional” and intended to damage his image in public.
