Anambra Announces Traffic Adjustment Ahead of President Tinubu’s Visit

The Anambra State Government has notified the public of upcoming changes in traffic flow and commuter movement across key areas of the state in preparation for the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

The announcement was made in a public statement released by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, on Friday. He noted that the temporary changes were necessary to ensure a smooth and orderly experience during the President’s visit, which is considered a significant moment for the state.

Mefor also urged residents across Anambra, especially those in Awka and surrounding towns, to be patient and cooperate with both traffic managers and security personnel during this period. He noted that authorities are working closely with relevant agencies to make sure everything goes according to plan.

“During this historic visit, Mr. President shall commission some projects of the Soludo administration, showcasing the state’s progress and development under the excellent leadership of ‘Solution Governor’, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo CFR,” the statement reads.

According to the government, President Tinubu is expected to unveil several infrastructure and development projects completed under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo. These projects reportedly reflect the administration’s commitment to modernizing the state and improving the lives of its people.

The Commissioner noted that the state is preparing to welcome the President with pride and enthusiasm, and all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure the visit proceeds without any disruption.

“We appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and support in ensuring a hitch-free and memorable visit by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Together, we shall give Mr. President and his delegation a resounding welcome,” the statement added.
