FULL LIST: Femi Adebayo’s Seven Doors Scores Big at #AMVCA11, Wins Best Lead Actor, Actress

The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) on May 10, 2025, marked a major milestone for Nollywood as Femi Adebayo’s historical drama series Seven Doors took home two of the evening’s most prestigious awards.

The series clinched the titles of Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress, with Femi Adebayo and Chioma Chukwuka recognized for their exceptional performances.

Femi Adebayo, who also directed the series alongside Adebayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo, was awarded Best Lead Actor for his portrayal of King Adedunjoye, a reluctant monarch struggling to break a generational curse that haunts his reign.

The plot revolves around King Adedunjoye’s efforts to overcome this curse by marrying six more wives, even as he remains deeply in love with his wife, Amaka, played by Chioma Chukwuka. This dynamic drama weaves together themes of tradition, sacrifice, and destiny, which resonated with both audiences and the judging panel at the AMVCA.

Chioma Chukwuka, who portrayed the heart-wrenching role of Amaka, was also recognized with the Best Lead Actress award. Although she could not attend the ceremony, Femi Adebayo graciously received the award on her behalf.

As the night progressed, several other talented individuals and projects were recognized for their contributions to the industry. Lateef Adedimeji’s Lisabi: The Uprising was another standout, securing multiple awards, further cementing its success this year.
