NAF Ready, Alert, and Committed to Protecting Nigeria – CBS

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has restated the Nigerian Air Force’s unwavering readiness and determination to defend Nigeria and its people against all threats. He made this known during an operational visit to frontline troops in Katsina State, as part of the Nigerian Air Force’s ongoing 61st anniversary activities.

During the visit, Air Marshal Abubakar noted the importance of staying vigilant and focused, especially in light of the current security challenges. He urged officers and personnel to continue their operations with greater energy and remain committed to their mission until lasting peace is restored across the country.

He said, “Yes, we have achieved commendable milestones, but this is not the time to slow down. We must not rest on our oars.” He stressed that while the Air Force has made progress in many regions, the fight is not yet over, and efforts must be doubled to secure all parts of Nigeria.

The Air Chief also noted that the 61st anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force is not only a time of celebration, but also an opportunity to reflect on the force’s achievements and prepare for the challenges ahead.

According to him, “Even as we mark 61 years of dedicated service, we must give our fellow countrymen more reasons to hope, more victories that reassure them that their Air Force remains alert, ready, and determined to defeat all enemies of peace.”

A statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, explained that the visit allowed the CAS to assess the operational environment, interact with troops, and inspect the equipment and facilities in use. This, he noted, reflects a leadership approach centered on engagement, accountability, and operational efficiency.

Air Marshal Abubakar also used the occasion to show support for the welfare of personnel and reinforce the Air Force’s commitment to its constitutional duties. “Nigerians can be rest assured that we remain fully committed to our constitutional mandate. We will continue to give our very best in defence of our nation,” he said.
