How Dangote Truck Caused Terrible Accident Along Kugbo-Nyanya Road – Police

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed a serious road accident that happened on Monday evening along the Kugbo-Nyanya expressway. This incident occurred just a day after another deadly crash at the same spot, raising concerns about road safety in the area.

According to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the accident involved a truck owned by the Dangote Group, with the registration number KPF 305 XA. The truck was driven by a man named Isa Salisu, who reportedly experienced brake failure while driving.

This mechanical failure caused the truck to collide violently with a dispatch rider and a commercial bus, known locally as a J5, bearing the registration WAM 45 XA. The crash caused significant damage to the vehicles involved and led to injuries among some road users.

While earlier reports suggested that there might have been fatalities, the police have clarified that no one died in the incident. However, three people were seriously injured. One of the injured was immediately taken to Asokoro District Hospital, while the other two were admitted to Nyanya General Hospital for treatment.

The police have impounded the damaged vehicles and towed them to a nearby station for further investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the crash.

SP Adeh also made a point to remind drivers to regularly maintain their vehicles and to follow traffic rules carefully to avoid similar accidents. She said, “The FCT Police Command urges motorists to ensure proper maintenance of their vehicles and adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent avoidable incidents.”
