Shettima Arrives Ethiopia for State Visit

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for an official state visit at the request of Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed.

He touched down in the Ethiopian capital on Thursday morning and was warmly welcomed at the airport by Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Gedion Timothewos, along with representatives from both the Nigerian and Ethiopian diplomatic missions.

The visit marks an important moment in Nigeria’s foreign relations, especially as both countries continue to strengthen ties in trade, security, and regional cooperation.

According to a statement released by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communication, the purpose of Shettima’s trip is to deepen the existing relationship between Nigeria and Ethiopia, with focus on areas of mutual interest. The statement was titled “VP Shettima arrives in Ethiopia for official state visit.”

During his visit, Shettima is expected to meet with top government officials in Ethiopia. These meetings will include discussions with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and other key figures in the Ethiopian government.

The leaders are expected to talk about ways both countries can work together to improve peace and economic growth across Africa.
