Two farmers, Nensha Adeor and Kator Gbenge, are currently battling for their lives after a brutal attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Adeor settlement, located in the Ndzorov Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State.
The violent incident took place in the native community of former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.
According to information from local sources, the trouble began when the two farmers tried to stop the herders from letting their cattle graze freely and ruin their farmlands. What started as a confrontation quickly turned into a bloody scene when the herdsmen, allegedly carrying machetes, launched a vicious attack.
Both farmers were left with deep injuries and were quickly rushed to the General Hospital in Gbajimba. Hospital staff confirmed that their condition remains very serious, and they are receiving emergency medical attention.
