Anambra State Police Command has arrested ten people believed to be involved in the tragic killing of a respected community chief, Chief Ogbuefi Ozo Nnayelugo, in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
The Chief, who held a notable traditional title and was a well-known figure in the community, was kidnapped in his hometown. Despite his family paying a ransom of ₦15 million to secure his release, his body was later found on his farm, sparking grief and anger throughout Nimo.
Speaking on the development, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the arrests were made by officers from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Awkuzu.
He noted that the arrests followed continued investigation efforts by the command. The suspects are now being questioned, and the police are working through the information they have gathered so far.
