Youth leader, Ambassador Raymond Nago Asema has reportedly been abducted from his residence on Monday afternoon by unidentified men dressed in uniform, believed to be operatives of the Nigeria Police.
The incident happened in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, at around 2:30 pm, shortly after Asema returned home. This was confirmed in a statement issued by Emmanuel Slimchild Shishim, who serves as Asema’s Chief of Staff. According to Shishim, the youth leader was closely followed before being forcefully taken by the unidentified men.
“He was trailed, dragged, and forced into a vehicle by men in uniform. Up till now, we do not know who they are or where they took him,” the Chief of Staff said.
People around the area said that the men looked like security agents, but no official badge or identification was shown during the incident. They simply arrived, picked up the youth leader, and left without providing any information.
