Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota has died at the age of 28 following a tragic road accident in Spain.
According to reports, the accident happened on the A-52 motorway near Palacios de Sanabria, in the Zamora province of Spain. The incident occurred at kilometre 65 of the highway. Spanish newspaper MARCA confirmed on Thursday that Jota died at the scene.
Born in 1996, Jota had built a strong football career, becoming a well-known name both in the Premier League and international football.
He joined Liverpool FC in 2020 and quickly became a regular part of the team, known for his skill, speed, and goal-scoring ability. For Portugal, he played many important games, helping the national side in major tournaments.
