Popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has said that if anything bad happens to her or her family, fellow actress Lizzy Anjorin should be held responsible. This statement came after weeks of personal troubles, including threats and a recent fire incident at her business office.
Just days ago, Iyabo’s Lagos office caught fire. Although there were no injuries, the event has added to a series of disturbing occurrences. Iyabo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo, had earlier shared online that the fire was not a random incident, but one of several threats aimed at her family. She noted that in May, her mother received a warning letter, which claimed that their daily movements were being watched.
Iyabo backed up her daughter’s claims on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in a lengthy Instagram post. She revealed that the letter had arrived shortly before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania. According to Iyabo, the letter clearly stated that she would face “hell” over the next three months.
Her post read: “Without prejudice to the ongoing investigation, it is important to state that a few days before my daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, I received a letter threatening my life at my office. The letter explicitly stated that I would go through hell in the next three months.”
Less than 24 hours after this post, Lizzy Anjorin went online to say that a N1 billion lawsuit involving both parties had been dropped. Iyabo then replied in a video — now deleted — where she again warned that Anjorin should be blamed if anything happens to her or her loved ones.
“If anything should happen to my children or my kids, hold Lizzy Anjorin responsible… we haven’t started any case yet… that was just ADR, case never start,” she said in the video. She explained that while the issue had gone into Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), it hadn’t yet reached a formal court stage.
Meanwhile, another figure in the entertainment space, Martins Otse — also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM) — reacted to the drama. Responding to Iyabo’s post, he said the statement came as a surprise and hinted that he knew more than he was willing to share out of respect for Iyabo Ojo.
