Just In: Oshiomhole Breaks Silence After Shaibu Dumped PDP, Returns To APC

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has publicly commented on the recent return of Philip Shaibu to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Shaibu, who once served as the Deputy Governor of Edo State, had previously defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) amidst tensions over Governor Godwin Obaseki’s re-election campaign.

Appearing on Channels Television’s “Sunday Politics,” Oshiomhole addressed the situation with measured words. He remarked on the typical nature of such political movements, noting the inherent uncertainties in the loyalty of political figures who switch parties. When pressed about Shaibu’s future loyalty to the APC, Oshiomhole responded, “Well, that’s a theoretical question. Time will tell.”

Shaibu’s decision to return to the APC has sparked various reactions within the political community. Oshiomhole acknowledged that everyone makes mistakes and emphasized the importance of recognizing and correcting them.

He stated, “Whatever you have done wrong, the day you realize that you have done wrong, and you have the courage to own up to your poor judgement or actions that were undemocratic, it is still better.”
