Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has made a dramatic statement regarding the upcoming United States presidential election. The Nigerian singer and activist declared he would divorce his wife of 47 years if Kamala Harris does not win the presidency.
This announcement came after President Joe Biden, the current President, decided not to run for re-election. Instead, Biden endorsed his Vice President, Kamala Harris, as the Democratic Party’s nominee for the next presidential race.
Charly Boy took to his social media account to express his strong support for Harris. He emphasized that after electing the first Black male President, Barack Obama, the United States should now elect its first Black female President. Harris, a prominent figure in U.S. politics, has long been a trailblazer, breaking barriers as a woman of color in high-ranking positions.
In a bold and emotional post written in Pidgin English, Charly Boy stated, “If dis my crush, Kamala Harris no win the USA presidential election, I swear, I go divorce my wife of 47yrs.” He further remarked, “After the first Black Male President, America deserves the first Black Female President. Sorry rednecks. Dats how we Roll.”
While Harris has received President Biden’s endorsement, she has not yet been officially nominated as the Democratic Party’s candidate. According to The Hill, she has secured over a quarter of the delegates needed to clinch the Democratic Presidential nomination.
