Why I Shot My Father Seven Times Till He Died – Police Sergeant, Linus Wadzani Reveals

Police Sergeant Linus Wadzani has admitted to fatally shooting his father, Wadzani Natsiri, in the Tudu area of Maduganari, behind the Borno State Police Command headquarters in Maiduguri. The tragic event occurred following a heated argument between the father and son.

State Police Public Relations Officer Kenneth Daso provided details to journalists, revealing that Sergeant Wadzani confessed during an interrogation with homicide detectives. “Sergeant Linus confessed to being under the influence of alcohol and other hard substances when he committed the crime,” Daso stated.

The incident took place on Sunday at around 4:30 pm. According to the police report, Sergeant Wadzani returned home and engaged in a fierce argument with his father, which escalated quickly. In a fit of rage, he allegedly shot his father multiple times with an AK-47 rifle, resulting in his father’s immediate death.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found Wadzani Natsiri alone, as there were no other family members present at the time of the incident. A family member informed the police that only Linus and his father were home, leaving no eyewitnesses to the argument and subsequent shooting.

To further investigate the circumstances, a forensic team has collected blood samples from Sergeant Wadzani to assess his mental state. The investigation into the homicide is ongoing.

Sergeant Wadzani, a Mobile Police officer with Mopol 6 in Maiduguri, is currently serving as a security detail at the Borno State House of Assembly. The deceased, Wadzani Natsiri, was a retired Assistant Superintendent of Police who previously served with the Mounted Unit of the Force in the state police command.

The police responded promptly to a distress call, bringing the situation under control and arresting Sergeant Wadzani.
